Raise The Bar

So here I lay wasting away

Watching the waves crash day by day

Give me more then disappointment

I want passion, I want desire

To fill me up and spread like fire

Something to take me far

I need to raise the bar

  1. What a great poem, my favorite part is your simile about spreading like fire. My friend and I posted some poetry (an experiment) and would love for you to come check it out.

  2. “I’m just sitting here watching the wheels go round and round / I really love them watch them roll” –John Lennon
Sometimes, it’s not so bad just letting the world crash around you, but, like most things, only in moderation. I understand your disappointment, your desire to feel some kind of passion that you’re afraid you may have lost forever. But it will return. Life comes in waves.
“When the days they seem to fall through you, well just let them go” — Damon Albarn

  3. Just a suggestion dear, you’d love Edna St Vincent Millay. If we wish to raise the bar for others, we must raise it for ourselves, too, don’t you believe ? Succinctly said! Deborah
